Considering how one in four women in america today is made to have a cesarian section, you have to figure there is something wrong with the way we deliver babies in the US.
This documentary, The business of being born, is a wonderful expose of the current situation of childbirth in the States.

I really recommend it to everyone, and i really think that using a midwife is a great way to go; of course, for those very rare cases an emergency c-section is the way to go, but it should be the rule.
Another great piece of info, is how the hospital position used in childbirth is impractical and not the best approach. There is so much to learn and we are loosing our connection to birth in this country. It's time to reconnect.
